Broken Bridge Productions was born of necessity. The necessity to create graphics that fit the music on the CD they were created for. It really began as an idea in 2000. My brother Dan & I had been playing music together for 30 odd years and really did not have anything but a few songs on tape let alone CD. I took some initial recordings from 2000 and coupled them with four recordings we had done in 1972 at AR Studios in New York City. The result was I'm Out of My Mind. It sure took Danny by surprise! (I hadn't told him what I was up to). Well, I think that put the bug in both of us to make CD's. Evidence of that are the 3 subsequent CD's and even a DVD. There must be something wrong with me - I actually enjoy creating the graphics. I realized as I learned more & more about what it takes to put together a CD project, that most musicians don't have the time or desire to learn all about graphics and the nitpicking details that go into the creation of a CD project - do I use a barcode? if so, where do I get one? do I use a spine label? the color scheme? liner notes? Been there, done all that! It's awfully easy to put all your energy into the music and ignore the pain-in-the-butt aspects of CD creation However, if you do ignore these, then the final product usually ends up looking less than professional or you pay a bunch of money & end up with a cover that is not much more than standard fare. I figure that if I offer musicians some help with their project at a modest price they would end up with a better, more professional product. That's the idea behind Broken Bridge Productions. I can create the theme, graphics, videos, etc. that go into the professional look that a musician needs to grab someone's attention, whether we have to take the photos on our own (I have a professional photographer on staff - my wife Barbara, visit her site here: BarbaraBlaisdell.com) or we can use yours, stock photos, your drawings - whatever it takes to get the "right look" for your project. I can even record audio & video of you performing live and author a DVD for your promotional purposes. If you have any questions about an upcoming project and how I can help with it, just email me (it don't cost a thing). Sincerely, Michael Blaisdell
